Goals
- The PUCC is targeted at organizations involved in the development, manufacture and sale of peer-to-peer software and devices with the objective of contributing to its members’ growth through creation of interoperable standards, the promotion of market competition, information sharing, and technical research. In pursuit of these goals, the PUCC undertakes the following activities.
- Sponsorship of investigation of technology trends and market analysis in the peer to peer networking market.
- Sponsorship of research into solutions to frequently occuring problems effecting peer to peer networking systems.
- Sponsorship of research into consumer safety issues relating to peer to peer networking systems.
- Sponsorship of research into intellectual property rights issues relating to peer to peer networking systems.
- Creation and promotion of interoperable peer to peer technology standards.
- Market regulatory activities to ensure a competitive market in peer to peer technology is maintained.
